The modern, lower part of the town has excellent facilities and amenities such as supermarkets (including Lidll, Mercadona and Supersol) a huge variety of delightful tapas bars and restaurants, many banks, post office, schools, shops, and sports facilities.
Nearer to the larger town of Motril only a few minutes drive to the east are a much more comprehensive range of amenities and shops including hypermarkets.
This whole coastal region is known as the Costa Tropical due to it’s pleasant mild climate, and although less well known than the other costas has it’s fair share of lovely beaches, the nearest being at Salobreña and Playa de Granada to the east.
Malaga airport is approx 70 mins, Granada airport 60 mins.
The historic city of Granada with its ancient Moorish past and influences, including the incredible Alhambra Palace and the old quarters of the Albaicin & Sacromonte, the Cathedral and so much more is approx 50 minutes car journey, whilst it’s possible to go skiing on the Sierra Nevada ski resort approx 1 hour 15 mins away.
